On September 18-21, 2018, the 51st Federal Trade Fair TEXTILLEGPROM was held at the Exhibition of Economic Achievements (VDNKh). TEXTILLEGPROM is the leader among exhibitions in Russia and the CIS countries for more than 25 years.

In a period of difficult economic situation, the Textillegprom Fair is developing and increasing its potential. The numbers speak for themselves: about 33,000 visitors, 1,930 participating companies from 28 countries of the world. Flagships of the industry, regular participants and new companies presented the potential of the textile and light industry market at the Fair.

“The Fair is growing from year to year” – said Pyotr Alexandrovich Chekmarev, Director of the Department of Plant Growing, Mechanization, Chemicalization and Plant Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia in an interview for the “Vechernyaya Moskva” newspaper – “We hope that in the future it will become even more ambitious. The Fair is aimed at the development of the textile industry of the Russian Federation. I want as many visitors as possible to see for themselves its large scale and quality.”

It is of particular interest to note the business program of the 51st Textillegprom Fair. The platform of business communications within the framework of the Business Program of the Textillegprom Fair included over 40 events in the most topical issues of the industry.
The program was opened by a panel discussion “Russian Linen Textiles – a Brilliant Future in World”, organized by the Interregional Public Foundation “Flax Union”, Textilexpo JSC, RSU named after A.N. Kosygin.
The draft of Strategy for the development of the flax industry of the Russian Federation was discussed.

“Today, the flax industry is still import-dependent, although the country has great potential for flax’ growing, processing and consuming” – said V.P. Ivanov, the initiator and one of the main speakers of the discussion.
Lyudmila Sergeevna Badak highlighted the cotton situation in the textile region of the country and discovered the obvious need for flax. “Flax is very important for Russian manufacturers, especially for those who today manufacture finished cotton products”.
The Forum “Innovations and Digitalization in Textile and Light Industry” was held within the framework of the Business Program. The specific results of the cooperation of institutions and manufacturers on the example of high-tech manufacture, digitalization of textile and light industry were presented. I.A. Ivanova, Deputy Director of the Department of Light Industry and Timber Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, noted that innovations can be bought, but it is more promising and cheaper to develop in the own country.
The participants and visitors of the Textillegprom Fair were interested in practical seminars organized by the Russian Export Center (REC) – export and e-export in the dialogue format and seminars organized by the Industrial Development Fund – also in the dialogue format. This format makes it possible for each participant to ask any questions and get practical advices and contacts.
The Seminar “How to become a Decathlon supplier?” opens a new market segment for Russian manufacturers. The event is popular among visitors. This time, according to the registration of participants, the seminar gathered completely new visitors.
Awards ceremonies were held within the framework of the TEXTILLEGPROM Fair: “Made in Russia” – the XI All-Russian Contest of Textile and Light Industry Products; “The Best Fabric of the Year - 2018” All-Russian Competition; summed up the results of the contests: “For great contribution to the formation of the national market of domestically produced goods”, “For achievements in textile and light industry”, “For high consumer properties of goods”, “Successful debut”.
The next 52nd Federal Trade Fair TEXTILLEGPROM will be held on February 19-22, 2019 in pavilions 69, 75 of VDNH, Moscow.
